We’re open with even more local & Michigan-made products!

Today we open for the season, and we have some delicious free samples on the sample table!  Uncle Gene’s Backwoods Pretzels (butter flavor) are made in Traverse City, Michigan, and we now carry them (also in Garlic Dill, Buffalo Wings, & Cherry Chipotle flavors).  I was pleasantly surprised by their lightness and crisp texture, and are they tasty!  You can sample them at the market today, with Wee Bee Jammin’ Strawberry Jam (made in Bear Lake, Michigan) or with zippy Honey Mustard.

Other new Michigan-made items this year include Angry Ketchup (to go with the Angry Mustard),  pickled mushrooms, and freshly made local bread (right now we have Whole Wheat, Multigrain, and Asparagus Bread).  Pick up some local Country Dairy cheese to go with the Asparagus Bread for a wonderful treat!

We also now have a display freezer, so we are planning on getting some great treats for that!  (We just got it yesterday!)  Our locally made Wheeler Pies are in it now–homemade like grandma used to, & ready for you to bake at home & enjoy the aroma while it bakes & the flavor afterwards!  We’ll have local Country Dairy Ice Cream in it soon!

Of course, our great fresh produce is the #1 reason to stop in.  Today,  we have fresh Oceana County Asparagus, SW MI Strawberries (from a farmer friend of Dave’s)–local Oceana County berries aren’t quite ripe–, and our own Honeycrisp Apples, saved over the winter in special Controlled Atmosphere Storage to stay crisp, sweet, & juicy!  We’re looking forward to a good crop year, and will be happy to see you when you stop in at the market!
